At Kinderlaken, we know parenting is a beautiful adventure… usually powered by caffeine, snacks found in coat pockets, and pretending you definitely remembered it was “dress-up day.”

That’s exactly why we’ve been thinking about creating regular coffee mornings for parents and caregivers; a relaxed space where adults can chat, laugh, survive together, and maybe even drink a hot coffee before it goes cold.

Because while the children are busy learning, playing, and making tiny masterpieces out of glue and glitter, parents deserve a space too.

More Than Just Coffee

This wouldn’t be one of those awkward “stand around holding a mug while everyone checks their phones” situations.

We imagine something warm, welcoming, and genuinely relaxed. A place where parents can arrive exactly as they are — tired, cheerful, overwhelmed, late, wearing yesterday’s jumper… all welcome.

Whether you’re new to the area, looking to meet other families, or simply desperate for adult conversation that doesn’t involve negotiating with a three-year-old about socks, these mornings could become a lovely little community tradition.

Real Parent Conversations

You know the important topics:

  • Which local playground actually has decent coffee nearby

  • How one tiny human can refuse every vegetable known to science

  • School transitions, sleep routines, and snack ideas

  • “Is anyone else hiding in the kitchen for five minutes of peace?”

  • And of course… where all the missing water bottles disappear to

Sometimes all it takes is a simple chat with another parent to feel more connected, supported, and slightly more normal.

Building a Kinderlaken Community

The idea behind these gatherings is simple: happy, connected parents help create happy, confident children.

When families know each other, children build friendships more naturally, parents feel supported, and the whole community becomes warmer and stronger. Plus, it’s always nice when someone else’s child also refuses to wear shoes.

At Kinderlaken, we want families to feel like they belong here; not just during drop-off and pick-up, but as part of a real local community.

So… Who’s Bringing the Biscuits?

We’d love to hear what parents think about the idea of regular coffee mornings and community gatherings at Kinderlaken.

No pressure. No parenting perfection required. Just coffee, conversation, and a chance to connect with other wonderful humans navigating family life together.

And if someone accidentally gets to drink their coffee while it’s still hot? Honestly, that alone feels worth celebrating.
